Blue flag Beaches such as Bundoran, Rossnowlagh, Narin-Portnoo, Portsalon and Stroove in Inishowen Peninsula have been internationally renowned and there are several surf schools dotted around the area. All levels of experience are catered for, so it’s there perfect place for the whole family or a group of friends to experience a fun and challenging adventure break.

Fully equipped licensed boats are available for Deep Sea Fishing around the coast with an experienced skipper to guide you. Donegal is home to salmon and sea trout fisheries with countless smaller wild game fisheries. Or captain your own boat, take to the waves, sail along the Atlantic coast, feel with wind in your hair and taste the salt on your skin! For those who enjoy being less active there are also pleasure cruises available along the waters off the coast where you can sit back, relax and absorb yourself in the most unspoilt views in Ireland.

Donegal is very popular for Horse Riding options available from beach treks and leisurely hacks, to cross country jumping to post to post trails. Equestrian centres based in Bundoran, Bruckless, Dunfanaghy and Lifford to name just some of the options available.

Many of these gardens offer guided tours which help to get a better and more informed insight to plants and varieties growing in Donegal! The Garden Trail provides a range of 20 gardens in Donegal such as world famous Glenveagh National Park.

We have magnificent Golf links courses along the Atlantic seaboard to exploit the spectacular coastal scenery and beaches and provide some of the most challenging golf in the world. Our county is rich in Cycling and Walking routes with some of them meandering along the Wild Atlantic Way – the longest coastal route from Cork to North Donegal. The North West Cycle Trail is a 326 circular cycle route that can be enjoyed as long or short routes. Enjoy dramatic views of the Atlantic ocean on coastal roads with quiet country roads and some traffic free sections in urban areas.
